Organize: Food

I've decided to start planning my meals so I don't stare at the fridge and cupboards for 10 minutes while starving and so I can figure out how long I can go before having to buy more groceries. Here's what I've got (not including beer, wine and liquor, which I of course have) :

Ramen
Rice
Angel Hair Pasta
Spaghetti
Linguini
White Bread
Tortillas
Ritz Crackers
Macaroni and cheese
Garlic mashed potatoes
Grits
Chipote Fries
Tortilla Chips

Gyoza
Mini Ravioli
Pierogies

Steak
Italian Sausage
Black Beans
Baked Beans
Eggs
Ham
Spam
Tofu
Breaded fish fillets
Smoked Oysters
Anchovies
Clams & clam juice

Bruschetta sauce
Stewed tomatos
Olive Oil
Soy milk

Roasted Pepper Soup
Sweet Potato Bisque

Brie
Cheddar
Spanish Asiago

Baby bock choi

Meatloaf frozen dinner
Frozen Pizzas
Chicken Flautas

1. that's a lot of food.

2. garlic mashed potatoes. can i come over for dinner when you're having that?

3. what the fuck is clam juice?

4. i didn't know you liked quasi. i saw them open for sleater-kinney a couple years ago but i don't remember much about their performance.
oh, the garlic 'tatos are powdered. no big deal.

you need clam juice to make clam sauce.
You have lots of stuff (and much of it tasty!)

Chris said that when we move he wants to have nice dinner parties where we invite people over (for example: you, courtney, etc.) and he gets to put his cooking skills to good use! I just hope that we have enough room to do such things.

One of the requirements for our new place is that it has to have a nice, spacious kitchen (says Chris) but I'm worried that the chances of us finding such a thing in a studio/1 BR are slimmmm.

yeah, there's a lot to consider with an SF apartment and any amentiy is lucky. Aim for a working stove and fridge first, anything more is a luxury. you may have to be "creative" with space. Regardless, I'd love to come over for dinner. That's really odd for me to ponder, going to Carla's place for dinner, wow.
How do you have such a vast array of simple carbohydrates - and beer - and still stay so svelte?

I won't player-hate, but I will say it ain't fair!

I've never svelt better!

Yes, it is not fair. I wish I were taller but at least my metabolism is high.
I think you should make us dinner.
:), neighbor
I honestly think I have a narrow selection to prepare a civilized dinner for more than one or two. As you can see I am used to basically starch and meat. But I could certainly bring a pot luck dish to a more well rounded meal.
hehe. I want to meet Ginger, so maybe we can potluck chez vous?
that can work. Allergic to clams? I could whip up my clam sauce. C. is out of town for the weekend. Maybe next week on one of the upcoming rainy nights?
oh my god! you've got SEVERAL meals just waiting to happen! a little starch heavy (where are the greens?)... but dinner can be served like now.

angel hair pasta, italian sausage and bruschetta sauce?
grits, ham and eggs?
quesadilla and soup? (that's got the added bonus of being a 5 minute meal).

i envy your meal options. i'm down to a couple frozen orange roughy filets, some wheat bulgur, a couple roamine hearts, and organic toaster pastries. however i DO have like 7 bottles of wine. top that.

housewarming baskets RULE. especially when you're the only member of a 6 person household who drinks.

luv.
xo.
Greens? What is greens, Precious?

Well, this list is right after my TJ's excursion so yeah, I've got a couple weeks of food here.

Oh, missing your housewarming is wilting my romaine heart...

I DID have a salad when I went out to dinner recently and it made me think of you, all walnut-gorgonzolay you know.

XOXO
